Got my '97 C90 up to an indicated 58 once down a Suffolk hill... It buzzed like it was about to blow and absolutely terrified me! 47 MPH was my more usual flat and level best.

The old girl will get 125 mpg easy, maybe 100 at a sustained top speed. Great for today with all the gas price increase.

The speedometer is reading correctly. All speedometers back then were intentionally made to read a few mph faster for the obvious reasons.

how you remove or install the speedometer?

Do you think the plate could be used to fix a big travel bag (45 L) with the standard exhaust? Because looking the original exhaust seems there is not space to fix the bag without burning the strings or rubber bands , it correct?

if you live in an area were there are flat roads that's limited to about 50kph (30mph) then its ok. i had a Suzuki lets4 that did about 60kph on the flat, Even got a speeding ticket trying to get up the hill. another thing is when the wind hits you its game over, 1 time is was riding in a super windy day full throltle doing a 35kph in a 50kph zone but i would just wait and get a 125 scooter or motorbike because yes even they are slow but they have so much more getup an go and its more comparable to a small car. plus you can go faster to.
